FAQ
How do I count the words on a page?
Open the Scanner tab and take a photo of a page or pick one from your library. The App recognizes the text on your device and counts the words. You can correct the number before saving.
Why does the App need the camera, microphone and location?
- Camera — to photograph the page.
- Microphone — to show the noise level while you read; audio is not recorded.
- Location — only if you choose to add a place to a History entry.
You can turn off any permission in iOS Settings → Speed Reading.
Does the App collect my data?
No. There are no analytics, ads or sign-up; everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Delete History, or delete the App. If you have emailed us and want the correspondence deleted, just tell us.
How do I move my History to a new phone?
Settings → Export History saves a JSON file. On the new device: Settings → Import History. Places (coordinates) are not included in the file.
Reminders don't arrive.
Check iOS Settings → Speed Reading → Notifications, and your Focus mode.
