Speed Reading Terms of Use
Version 1.0. Effective November 2, 2026.
1. License
The Speed Reading app for iPhone, including its widget (the "App"), is provided under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"):
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
The licensor under the Apple EULA is the App's developer as listed in the App Store (Igor Klyuzhev), email: speed.reading@outlook.com.
This page does not change or add to the Apple EULA. It collects important notes on how the App works. If anything here conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA prevails. The Russian version of this page is the primary one.
2. What the App does
- counts the words on a photographed page so you can estimate your reading speed;
- shows the ambient noise level while you read;
- provides a timer, a stopwatch and a Tabata interval timer, including in the widget;
- keeps a history of your results on your device.
The App is free, with no ads or in-app purchases, and no sign-up is needed.
3. Health and safety
- Tabata is high-intensity interval training. The App only counts intervals. It is not a medical device and does not give medical, fitness or other professional advice.
- Before intense workouts, talk to a doctor — especially if you have heart, vascular or joint conditions, are pregnant, or have not exercised for a long time. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
- Do not use the App where it is unsafe to do so: while driving, crossing the road or operating machinery.
4. Accuracy of results
- The word count comes from automatic text recognition and may differ from the real number, especially in poor lighting, with small print, complex layouts or handwriting. You can correct the number by hand before saving.
- The noise level is a rough estimate from the device microphone. It is not a measuring instrument and must not be used for official measurements.
- Reading speed is a guide for self-monitoring, not an assessment of ability.
5. Your content
Photos and recognized text stay on your device. You are responsible for photographing only materials you have the right to use. The App does not publish or share your content with anyone.
6. Third-party services
The App uses only Apple system features: text recognition, maps, and notifications. No third-party services receive your data — see the Privacy Policy. Maps in History are provided by Apple Maps under Apple's terms.
7. Changes and discontinuation
We may update the App, add or remove features, or stop supporting it. Data on your device stays with you until you delete the App. You can export your History to a file beforehand.
8. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these notes limits the rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country.
